Expected response for large intensity changes

Expected response for large intensity changes

Hello, I have a question regarding the expected response from the event camera pixels for very large intensity changes. The working principle of event cameras is that the if the long contrast between the intensity levels exceeds a certain threshold (determined by the sensitivity parameter), an event is recorded.

Lets say an intensity change is large enough that the log contrast is larger than 2 times the threshold. Would this be recorded as still just one event, or two? My initial assumption was that it would be one event, as the threshold had been crossed only once, but I've seen other literature (though not in any of the Prophesee documentation) that seems to imply the expected response would be two events.

Can anyone clarify for me what the intended response is?
