Understanding the relationship between bias settings and intensity

Greetings,

I have an IMX636 sensor. I understand from this question (https://support.prophesee.ai/portal/en/community/topic/questions-about-biases) that the specific relation between the change in intensity of the incident light needed to trigger an event and the bias_diff settings is not something that is measured. However, I would like to understand better the relationship between these bias_diff settings and the physical qualities of the light. I have read some of the documentation on it, such as articles that mention the 'nominal contrast threshold' but I still find myself confused.
For example, say if I increase the bias_diff_on and bias_diff_off each by 5 values, what specifically must be different about the incident light to trigger an event, verses the default value case?
